2. About BSB Network
BSB Network exists to help businesses increase their visibility, promote their services, build credibility and connect with other businesses through a range of promotional, networking and business growth opportunities.
Membership benefits are intended to evolve over time as BSB Network develops new services, adopts new technologies and improves the overall Member experience.
No individual Membership benefit shall be regarded as the sole purpose of Membership.
3. Membership
Membership is available to businesses and individuals accepted by BSB Network.
Membership is personal to the Member and may not be transferred without our prior written consent.
Membership begins once payment has been successfully received.
Membership remains active until cancelled, expires or is otherwise terminated in accordance with these Terms.
4. Membership Benefits
Membership benefits may include, but are not limited to:
- Promotional opportunities.
- Spotlight features.
- Showcase features.
- A BSB Network website listing.
- A Business Knowledge Hub Subscription, which may include SearchBritain publication or distribution (where included within the Membership purchased).
- Founder benefits (where applicable).
- Educational resources.
- Business growth content.
- Networking opportunities.
- Future Membership benefits introduced by BSB Network.
BSB Network continually develops its services.
We reserve the right to introduce new benefits, improve existing services, replace benefits with comparable alternatives, amend features or withdraw obsolete services where we reasonably believe this improves the operation, sustainability or value of the Membership.
Where reasonably practicable, withdrawn benefits may be replaced with comparable alternatives.
Such changes shall not, by themselves, constitute a breach of these Terms or give rise to refunds or compensation.
5. Founder Membership
Founder Membership is available only to qualifying Members accepted into the Founder 100 programme.
Founder Membership includes the Founder benefits advertised at the time of joining.
Where BSB Network refers to Founder pricing as being available “for life”, this means for as long as:
- the Member maintains continuous qualifying Membership without cancellation or lapse; and
- BSB Network continues operating the relevant Membership programme.
Founder Membership does not create any obligation upon BSB Network to continue trading indefinitely or continue operating any particular website, platform or service.
Should BSB Network permanently cease trading, discontinue Membership or permanently withdraw the Membership programme, Founder Membership benefits shall automatically terminate without further liability.
Where BSB Network refers to permanent Founder recognition or a permanent Founder listing, this means recognition for the lifetime of the BSB Network service. Should that service permanently cease operating, BSB Network shall have no obligation to continue displaying Founder recognition elsewhere.
6. Business Knowledge Hub Subscription
Certain Memberships include a Business Knowledge Hub Subscription.
A Business Knowledge Hub Subscription includes the creation and maintenance of a professionally structured Business Knowledge Hub designed to present detailed information about a business in a structured and accessible format.
Business Knowledge Hubs may be created, hosted, published or distributed through SearchBritain or through another website, platform, product or service operated by or on behalf of BSB Network.
Where SearchBritain inclusion forms part of a Membership or Business Knowledge Hub Subscription, business information may be displayed, referenced or made discoverable through SearchBritain using information contained within the Business Knowledge Hub.
BSB Network may develop, rename, restructure, migrate or change the technology, website, domain or platform used to provide Business Knowledge Hubs, provided that we do not materially reduce the overall core benefits of an active paid Subscription during its current subscription period.
The format, presentation, functionality and methods used to publish or distribute Business Knowledge Hub information may change as our services and technologies develop.
Publication and continued availability of a Business Knowledge Hub remains subject to our editorial standards, verification procedures and these Terms.
BSB Network reserves the right to refuse publication or require amendments before publication.
7. The British Small Business Network Facebook Group
The British Small Business Network Facebook Group is operated using Meta’s Facebook platform.
Facebook is an independent third-party platform over which BSB Network has no control.
BSB Network does not guarantee:
- The continued availability of Facebook.
- The continued availability of Facebook Groups.
- The continued availability of any Facebook feature.
- Facebook algorithms.
- Facebook reach.
- Facebook engagement.
- Facebook policies.
- The continued operation of Meta’s services.
Changes made by Meta, interruptions to Facebook services, removal of Facebook functionality, suspension of Facebook Groups or closure of Facebook shall not constitute a breach of these Terms.
Where reasonably appropriate, BSB Network may replace Facebook-based services with alternative platforms or technologies.
Membership is provided by BSB Network and is not dependent upon the continued operation of Facebook or any other third-party platform.
8. Community Standards
Members participating in The British Small Business Network Facebook Group are expected to comply with:
- Facebook’s Community Standards.
- Facebook’s Terms of Service.
- The published rules of The British Small Business Network Facebook Group.
- These Terms and Conditions.
BSB Network reserves the right to suspend or remove Members from the Facebook Group where we reasonably believe they have breached Facebook rules, Group rules or these Terms.
Removal from the Facebook Group due to a Member’s conduct shall not entitle the Member to a refund or reduction in Membership fees.
Membership provides access to a range of benefits and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of continued access to any individual third-party platform.
9. Spotlights and Showcases
Spotlights and Showcases are editorial promotional opportunities offered by BSB Network.
Publication, timing, frequency, scheduling, wording, images and editorial content remain entirely at the editorial discretion of BSB Network.
BSB Network does not guarantee:
- Publication by any specific date.
- Any particular frequency.
- Enquiries.
- Sales.
- Facebook reach.
- Social media engagement.
- Search engine rankings.
- AI visibility.
- Commercial success.
- Any other specific business outcome.
Where an error attributable to BSB Network materially affects a Spotlight or Showcase, our normal remedy shall be to correct the error and, where appropriate, provide an additional promotional opportunity.
This shall constitute the Member’s sole remedy in relation to that promotional content.
10. Business Listings and Business Knowledge Hubs
Business listings and Business Knowledge Hubs are created using information supplied by Members.
Members remain responsible for ensuring all information supplied is accurate, lawful and kept up to date.
Publication by BSB Network or SearchBritain does not constitute approval, recommendation, endorsement, accreditation or verification of any business, product or service.
Visitors should undertake their own enquiries before entering into any commercial relationship.
BSB Network accepts no responsibility for disputes, claims, losses or liabilities arising between Members, customers or third parties.
11. Editorial Standards
BSB Network reserves the right, acting reasonably and in good faith, to refuse, edit, postpone, suspend or remove any content submitted by a Member.
This includes, but is not limited to, content which:
- Is unlawful or may reasonably be considered unlawful.
- Infringes copyright, trade marks or other intellectual property rights.
- Breaches the rules or policies of Facebook, Meta or any other third-party platform used by BSB Network.
- Contains misleading or unsubstantiated claims.
- Is defamatory.
- Is inaccurate.
- Is offensive, discriminatory, abusive or inappropriate.
- Promotes illegal activities.
- May reasonably damage the reputation of BSB Network or SearchBritain.
- May reasonably cause conflict or disruption within the community.
- Is inconsistent with the aims or values of BSB Network.
Editorial decisions are made to protect the integrity of the network and shall be exercised reasonably and in good faith.
The refusal, editing, postponement or removal of content under this clause shall not, by itself, entitle the Member to any refund, compensation or reduction in Membership fees.
12. Materials Supplied by Members
Members confirm that they own, or have obtained all necessary rights, licences and permissions to use any text, photographs, logos, graphics, videos or other materials supplied to BSB Network or SearchBritain.
Members are solely responsible for ensuring that any material supplied does not infringe the copyright, trade marks, intellectual property rights or other legal rights of any third party.
Members warrant that they have the legal right to authorise the publication of all material submitted.
Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless BSB Network, SearchBritain and their owners, employees and representatives against all reasonable claims, actions, investigations, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from material supplied by the Member, including (but not limited to) copyright infringement, trade mark infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
BSB Network reserves the right to immediately remove any material where we reasonably believe continued publication could expose BSB Network or any third party to legal liability.
13. Advertising Standards
Members are solely responsible for ensuring that all advertising, promotional material, statements, testimonials, comparisons and claims submitted to BSB Network comply with all applicable legislation and industry codes, including the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code) administered by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
Members warrant that all claims are truthful, accurate, capable of substantiation and supported by appropriate evidence where required.
BSB Network does not independently verify advertising claims and accepts no responsibility for claims made by Members.
Members agree to indemnify BSB Network against any complaints, investigations, regulatory action, legal proceedings or losses arising from advertising or promotional claims supplied by the Member.
14. Complaints and Investigations
Where BSB Network receives a complaint regarding a Member, Business Knowledge Hub, Spotlight, Showcase or other published content, or where action is taken or threatened by Facebook, Meta, another third-party platform, a regulator or legal authority, BSB Network reserves the right to immediately suspend, remove or restrict access to the relevant content while the matter is investigated.
Where appropriate, Members may be invited to provide clarification, supporting evidence or amended content.
Where BSB Network reasonably concludes that content breaches these Terms, applicable law, third-party platform rules or our editorial standards, we may permanently remove that content.
Removal of content under this clause shall not, by itself, entitle the Member to any refund or compensation.
15. Business Conduct
Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally when participating in BSB Network activities.
BSB Network reserves the right to suspend or terminate Membership where a Member engages in conduct which, in our reasonable opinion:
- Brings BSB Network or SearchBritain into disrepute.
- Harasses, intimidates or abuses other Members.
- Repeatedly breaches community standards.
- Uses Membership for unlawful purposes.
- Attempts to disrupt the operation of the network.
Where Membership is terminated because of a serious breach of these Terms, no refund shall be payable except where required by applicable law.
16. Technology and Third-Party Services
BSB Network relies upon various third-party services, platforms and technologies to deliver certain Membership benefits.
These may include website hosting providers, payment providers, Facebook (Meta), email delivery services, AI services and other technology suppliers.
BSB Network shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, reduced functionality or failures arising from the operation or failure of third-party services beyond our reasonable control.
Temporary interruptions shall not constitute a breach of these Terms.
17. Brand, Trading Name and Community Changes
BSB Network may change its trading name, branding, logos, website design, domain names, product names, Membership names, service names or the name of any community, including The British Small Business Network Facebook Group, where we reasonably believe such changes are in the best interests of the organisation or its Members.
Such changes may be made for commercial, marketing, legal, regulatory, intellectual property or operational reasons.
Such changes shall not affect the validity of a Member’s Membership or Subscription.
A change of branding or name shall not, by itself, entitle any Member to cancel, claim compensation or receive a refund.
18. Membership Changes
BSB Network is intended to evolve over time.
We may introduce new Membership benefits, amend existing services, replace services with comparable alternatives, withdraw obsolete features or change the way benefits are delivered where we reasonably believe this improves the long-term operation or sustainability of the network.
Such changes shall not constitute a material breach of these Terms.
19. Payments and Renewals
Membership fees are payable in advance.
Unless otherwise stated, Membership renews annually.
It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure payment details remain current.
Failure to renew may result in Membership benefits being suspended or withdrawn.
Founder pricing is only retained where continuous qualifying Membership is maintained.
20. Refunds
Refund requests will be considered in accordance with applicable UK consumer legislation.
Where digital services have commenced, promotional content has been created or Membership benefits have begun to be delivered, statutory cancellation rights may be limited.
Where an operational error attributable to BSB Network occurs, our preferred remedy shall normally be to correct the issue or provide an equivalent replacement benefit rather than a refund.
Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights which cannot lawfully be excluded.
21. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to the above, BSB Network’s total aggregate liability arising from or in connection with any Membership, Subscription or use of our services shall not exceed the total Membership fees paid by the Member during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
BSB Network shall not be liable for indirect, consequential or economic losses including, but not limited to, loss of profits, business, goodwill, reputation, anticipated savings or opportunities.

- Sales.
- New customers.
- Search engine rankings.
- AI platform visibility.
- Social media reach.
- Commercial success.
- Any other specific business outcome.
23. Permanent Closure of BSB Network
Should BSB Network permanently cease trading, permanently discontinue Membership or permanently withdraw the Membership programme, all Memberships, Founder Memberships, Business Knowledge Hub Subscriptions and associated benefits shall terminate.
Members acknowledge that references to lifetime pricing, permanent Founder recognition or ongoing Membership benefits apply only while the relevant services continue to operate.
Permanent closure of the business shall not give rise to any entitlement to future services, compensation or damages beyond any rights which cannot lawfully be excluded.
24. Force Majeure
BSB Network shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, fire, flood, war, terrorism, industrial disputes, pandemics, cyber attacks, failures of utilities, failures of internet services or actions of governmental or regulatory authorities.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between BSB Network and the Member in relation to Membership and related services.
They supersede all previous discussions, representations, promotional material or correspondence except where expressly incorporated into these Terms.
26. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
27. No Waiver
Failure by BSB Network to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion shall not prevent us from enforcing that provision or any other provision in the future.
28. Assignment
BSB Network may assign, transfer or novate its rights and obligations under these Terms to any successor business, purchaser or associated company.
Members may not assign or transfer their Membership without our prior written consent.
29. Changes to these Terms
BSB Network may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will always be published on our website.
Continued use of our services after updated Terms become effective shall constitute acceptance of those revised Terms.
30. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
